Stanford has a long history of light field research, and has hosted light field datasets dating back to 1996, coincident with Marc Levoy and Pat Hanrahan's seminal paper on light field rendering.
More than 20 years later light field imaging is a still-growing field, with new insights and an increasing number of publications appearing at top conferences internationally.
